Thorns

I met with the workers today. I found out that these men are christians and they really revved up the work when they found out my plans, they were so excited for me.We were able to clean up 1/3 of the property when I stepped in a 1 1/2 inch thorn. It penetrated my rubber boots, broke off from the vine and lodged in my sole. It was a very painful experience. I took the boots off, got my pliers and pulled the thorn off my sole. The whole thing went inside my foot. I made sure it bled well then went home to nurse it. I am not seeing any discolorations or swelling ,just a lot of pain.Went to bed in the afternoon and felt a bit of a high temperature. Took some tylenol and lots of water. Feeling much better now. Will try to work again tomorrow if I am able to.

This event reminded me of Jesus and his crown of thorns. My pains are probably miniscule comparing to those thorns that was forcefully placed on his head as a part of a mockery.Jesus embraced that rejection—accepted the crown of thorns—as part of his bitter cup of enduring what humans endure, so that he could open the door for us to escape with him from this world of tears, so that he could redeem us all from this world of ungodliness and thorns because of HIS love for us.
