So I we are now back in Canada trying to figure out what we should do. Buying land in Boracay is not going to be an easy task. Ninety percent of land in the island is under Tax Declaration, exactly does that mean? What exactly did they "BUY" was the right to use land owned by the Philippine Government on the proviso that they continue to pay the TAX due on that particular piece of Philippines Real Estate! The land belongs to, and will always continue to belong to the Philippine Government until such time that there is a change in the law. You may indeed own the "building" placed on the land, but you will NEVER legally own the real estate.I Did a lot of praying and web surfing. Majority of the land for sale in the island is out of my financial reach and I am unwilling to buy a property without a legal title.I saw an ad online about a land in Boracay, this one is one of the few titled land located in Ilig iligan which is on the northeastern part of the island. It is also known as the sunrise beach.
I sent an e-mail indicating my interest and got an undeliverable mail in return. So I just left it and went on with life waiting upon what GOD would do next.
I got a phone call at 5:30 am on a Saturday. I was expecting a call from Anita that day because she was en route to HongKong to play hockey but I reckon that this is way too early for her to say that she made it. "Are you still interested with the land for sale in Boracay?' the man said. I said yes then he asked me "are you a christian?".
The owners of the land are christians and that they are excited about the plans we have for the property. We discussed a lot including that of our faith. I was excited. It seems that GOD is opening the doors to make things happen. Life, I feel, is about to change.
