I was invited to watch the school district sports meet in Malay community. There were a lot of elementary student athletes that participated in the event. The kids camped at the school classrooms for the 3 day sports meet. There were baseball, badminton, volleyball, track and field, and table tennis. The baseball players are all shoeless and was playing in the corner of the oval track. The game pauses whenever a runner is going around the corner of the oval. It's pretty hysterical. What they lack in equipment and fundamentals are rather balanced by their laughter and fair play. They are in need of baseball gloves. It was a treat to watch kids playing games. The Yapak elementary school kids are the only ones without any uniforms. They are the poorest kids in the district.They looked like the little rascals only funnier. The kids in Boracay just love playing any type of sports. It will be a good way to minister to them in a special way.I'd love to teach them ball hockey. Can you send me some sticks?
