Jeverson

I went to visit a little village in Ilig-iligan today. I met a young boy named Jeverson. He is 10 years old and unable to read nor write. He spent 2 months in grade 1 and that is it. His dad has a grade 4 education and cannot persuade the young boy to go to school. I told him that I am willing to teach him basic reading and writing if he wants to. He agreed. The average level of education in that little village is 6th grade. The owner of the land in that village is just letting them use the area until further notice.

I came today to start the lesson and found out that there were more kids that wants to participate. We had a blast. I shared some manga comics to the youth that can read and left a whole bunch of playthings and writing materials to the children.I will continue the reading lessons as I am able to. It would be nice to have a professional do this. One of the programs that Oasis would want to develop in time.
