Winter 2008 was one of the coldest ever in my memory. The snow came and covered just about everything. January was the time that our house was sold and we have to leave the premises by the end of the month. So much work for so little time. We rented a storage locker for our stuff.
We moved in the home of Rick and Louise and will be staying there until Anita and the kids are ready to go to the Philippines.
Anita decided to have an in house garage sale two days before the turnover. She placed an advertising on the local paper and I placed an ad on Craigslist. We cleaned up and prepared everything on friday night and did not go to bed till 4am. We went to Mcdonald's the next morning for breakfast. It was a sunny morning. I was not quite sure what to expect with the garage sale. I simply prayed that the LORD would honor us by selling everything we have to dispose.
We were driving back to our home when we noticed that the cul de sac was filled with people. I assumed that someone is having a party, then we found out that they were all waiting for us to open up the garage sale. We opened up the doors and mayhem began. I have never seen anything like this. At the end of the day everything was cleared except some big items. The garage sale ended at 3pm. .We still have the china cabinet, the TV, several chairs, book shelf, an electronic breast pump and a few knick knacks. We cleaned up the house and Anita moved out the tv and the breast pump in the storage locker. 7 pm came and a lady walked in and asked if we still have something for sale. I was hoping that she would buy the china cabinet but she bought the little stuff that was left over. We were trying to figure out what to do with the big items. 10 pm came and four filipinos walked in and asked if they can still buy something. We let them in and can you believe it? they bought everything that was left over. GOD honored my prayer in his time. They came back the next day to buy the tv and the electronic breast pump. That was amazing. God sure has a dramatic way in answering prayers.
Our hopes and dreams about life in canada are now fully replaced by new hopes and dreams of a new life in the Philippines. There is no turning back.
