Odeng

I got to spend time with Odeng today. He was a longtime neighbor with a penchant for booze and brawl. His family was well known in our area as the "neighbors from hell."Most members of his family has now passed away, some have moved away from the area. He, however remained in the same area. He is now homeless and age has crept up to him. We chatted about the past and I shared with him the love of Jesus. His eyes twinkled and said that he has given his life to the LORD a while ago and that he is happy regardless of his circumstance. He washes cars in the neighborhood and they give him food in return. The only thing that he really wishes for is a bible because he never ever had one. I bought one and gave it to him. I have never seen a person so delighted to have a bible. He cuddled it like it's the most precious thing and thanked me profusely. I was really blest to be able to provide him a bible.
If you met Odeng before, I can guarantee you that you would not think that this angry, conniving, drunk, fight mongering man is salvageable.Yet GOD's grace and mercy transformed this man into a new creation.Only GOD can.Do not stop loving and praying for that "impossible" person.GOD is not finished with them yet.
